Bundesliga Side Hamburg SV Finds New Investor, Sells Additional Shares To Kühne

Bundesliga club Hamburg SV "has secured new investors for its football team," according to the SID. The financially struggling club has reportedly sold shares in the football department to Hamburg-based family business Burmeister and logistics billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne. Germany's Bild reported Burmeister acquired a 1.5% stake in the club for €4.03M ($4.51M). Kühne, who has been the club's biggest shareholder with 7.5%, reportedly secured additional shares for €9.25M ($10.35M). Kühne's latest investment, however, will not provide the club with new cash as a loan will be converted for the shares. In addition to Kühne and Burmeister, businessmen Helmut Bohnhorst (1.5%) and Alexander Margaritoff (0.75%) also hold stakes in the club (SID, 2/6).
