Second Bundesliga Side Greuther Fürth Partners With Thomas Sommer

Second Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth "sold the naming rights" to its home stadium to local real estate mogul Thomas Sommer, according to SOCCEREX. The ground, previously known as the Stadion am Laubenweg, will be rechristened as "Sportpark Rohnhof / Thomas Sommer," combining one of the arena’s previous names with the name of its new investor. Sommer has been involved with the club for 10 years and "had previously floated the idea of funding a new stadium for the team." Instead "he has found a more innovative way to invest into the side," with the deal to put his name worth a total of €3M ($3.3M) over five years (SOCCEREX, 2/3).
