Spain's Superior Sports Council Investigating Documentation From RFEF

Spain's Superior Sports Council (CSD) has "received all the documentation that it requested" from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), following a visit of two CSD representatives to the RFEF HQ in Las Rozas, just outside Madrid, according to the EFE. With this documentation in its power, the CSD "will now proceed to investigate if there has been any wrongdoing regarding the Recreativo de Huelva case." The case "could very well end up" with the Administrative Tribunal for Sport (TAD) (EFE, 2/3). FOOTBALL ESPANA reported CSD President Miguel Cardenal revealed FIFA threats to ban Spain from Euro 2016 but "insists they’ll be ignored." Villar’s alleged payment to Recreativo Huelva is being looked into with the CSD leading the way, and Cardenal said that the body "will stand up to FIFA" if it threatens to ban Spain from int'l competition "by deciding their involvement amounts to government interference" in the RFEF (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 2/3).
