Marketplace Roundup: Olympique Lyonnais Ends Partnership Talks With Uber

French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais has “ended its partnership discussions with travel company Uber” after meeting with local and national taxi union officials. In a statement the club said that “in a practical plan, OL will meet with taxi representatives to decide on a location of a taxi station at the heart of Parc Olympique Lyonnais, as well as a spot in the Parc OL app” (L’ÉQUIPE, 1/29). ... Premiership rugby side London Irish agreed to a "new partnership with ticketing software company Ticket ABC." The agreement will "allow the club's supporters to purchase tickets both on their mobile and through London Irish's Facebook page" (ISPORTCONNECT, 1/29). ... Canadian sportswear brand Dryworld has "signed another deal with a Brazilian side," this time agreeing to terms with Atlético Mineiro. The brand already supplies kit to two of Atlético's rivals -- Goiás and Fluminense -- and "will now provide apparel to the Belo Horizonte-based club for the next five years" in a deal reportedly worth R$100M ($24.5M) (SOCCEREX, 1/29). ... Bilyoner.com has become the naming sponsor of Turkey's Women’s Basketball Super League. The league will be known as the Bilyoner.com Women’s Basketball League. The sponsorship agreement will run through the '17-18 season (Turkish Basketball Federation).
