Sony Pictures Networks India Eyeing 20% Ad Growth From Indian Premier League

Sony Pictures Networks India is targeting a "strong" 20% ad revenue growth from the Indian Premier League this season, according to TELEVISION POST. Vodafone, which has been with the event from the beginning, "has returned yet again." SPN India President Rohit Gupta said that the goings-on off the field "will not impact viewer interest." He said, "We still have eight teams. Interest in the IPL is well spread across the country. I think you might have a more even contest this time around where anybody can win." Gupta "declined to name the sponsors who have come on board." However, there reportedly are three co-presenting sponsors. One of them is Vodafone, "which has been there from the start." The others are Amazon and telecom Oppo Mobiles. The co-presenters will "fork out" around Rs 60 crore ($8.8M) each while the associate sponsors will shell out around Rs 35 crore ($5.1M) (TELEVISION POST, 1/28).
