Barça Execs Travel To Doha To Continue Shirt Sponsorship Talks With Qatar Airways

Barcelona is "continuing to negotiate its shirt sponsorship with Qatar Airways," according to Lluís Mascaró of SPORT. Barça VP Manel Arroyo and Commercial Dir Francesco Calvo on Wednesday traveled to Doha to meet with airline owner Qatar Sports Investments execs to "continue talks on the conditions of the new agreement." The club's current deal with Qatar Airways expires in June '16. Barcelona wants its shirt sponsorship "to be the most valuable in the world" after the titles it won last season. The trip by Arroyo and Calvo "contradicts the reports saying that negotiations between Barcelona and Qatar Airways had broken down" (SPORT, 1/27).
