Rangers First Sets Sights On 5% Stake At Ibrox After Passing £1M Mark

Rangers First has revealed that it has broken through the £1M ($1.4M) "donation barrier as the Light Blue legions have stumped up to help their club," according to Christopher Jack of the HERALD SCOTLAND. The Gers group has set its sights on taking its shareholding "above the 5% mark" to increase its Ibrox influence once again. RF released its "first annual members report for the period to June 30 last year -- a time that saw the Community Interest Company become the largest fan ownership organisation in Britain." Rangers First currently holds a 3.52% stake in Rangers Int'l Football Club plc. and spokesperson Ricki Neill is "delighted at the progress that has been made in recent months." He said, "We have taken £400,000 from people joining Club 1872 and that has been a huge part of what has made us as successful so far. The fans have really got behind us and we thank them for their efforts. It is an amazing achievement and one that we and the Rangers fans can be proud of" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 1/22).
