League Notes: SANZAR Board To Change Bonus Points System

South Africa, New Zealand and Australia Rugby is "set to make a radical change" to its bonus point system for the 2016 Super Rugby season, mirroring a move made in France's Top 14 competition. Super Rugby teams "will now need to score three more tries than the opposition to secure a bonus point, with the four try bonus point being scrapped." The idea is to "encourage teams to continue to play attacking rugby, even if the contest is lopsided" (HERALD SUN, 1/20). ... The Mexican Basketball Federation (ADEMEBA) was reinstated after FIBA's exec committee received confirmation from the Mexican state authorities in charge of sport (CONADE) that they had formally recognized ADEMEBA as the sole governing body for basketball in the country. As a result, Mexico's team will compete in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament to try to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (FIBA).
