German Handball Federation President Calls For Outdoor Bundesliga Games

German Handball Federation (DHB) President Andreas Michelmann "is calling for outdoor games," according to Henning Eberhardt of SPONSORs. Michelmann said that even Bundesliga games "could be played outdoors here and there." He mentioned Stuttgart's Schlosspark, in front of Berlin's central station, or a tennis stadium "as possible venues." He said that his "craziest idea" is a game in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. In addition, the 56-year-old said that he "could imagine bringing back former national team coach Heiner Brand." Brand, who led the German team to a World Cup victory in '07, left the federation due to personal differences with VP Bob Hanning.
