Men's European Handball Championship Game Draws More Than 4 Million Viewers On ARD

German public broadcaster ARD "recorded more than 4 million viewers for its broadcast of Germany's second game at the 2016 Men's EHF European Championships," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. The handball matchup between Germany and Sweden, which started at 8:30pm, drew 3.07 million viewers during its first half. The number translated into a market share of 8.8%. The viewership increased to 4.34 million along with a market share of 13.3% during the second half. In the target demographic 14-49, Germany's 27-26 win drew a 7.4% market share during the first half. The market share increased to 9.8% as 1.77 million viewers tuned in after halftime. ARD's pre-game coverage attracted 3.13 million viewers and obtained a 9.4% share. In the target demo, those numbers were 840,000 viewers and a 7.1% market share (QUOTENMETER, 1/19).
