Marketplace Roundup: Jürgen Klopp Signs On As Brand Ambassador For Warsteiner

Liverpool Manager Jürgen Klopp "signed a new sponsorship deal to become a brand ambassador for German beer brand Warsteiner." Klopp "agreed to a four-year deal with the company." The partnership "will see Klopp being featured in an ad campaign for the brand's non-alcoholic beverages" (SPONSORs, 1/15). ... French Pro A basketball side L’Asvel and European aromatherapy company Puressentiel announced a partnership Friday. L’Asvel President Gaëtan Muller said, “This partnership is almost natural, it stems from the idea of performance and purity.” This is Puressentiel’s second partnership with a French professional sports club, it currently is in a deal with Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain until June ’16 (LE 10 SPORT, 1/15). ... Danish sportswear brand Hummel "has signed an eight-year sponsorship and supply deal with the Danish Football Association (DBU)," 12 years after the last collaboration between the two. The contract runs until the end of '24 and "includes all Danish national football teams, both men's and women's, at all age levels." The new Hummel-designed kits "will be unveiled ahead of this year's Olympic Games in Rio." The deal "will also cover the pan-continental 2020 European Championship" (SOCCEREX, 1/15). ... Chinese telecom brand Huawei confirmed Thursday the company "will again sponsor the Madrid Marathon and Half Marathon, which will be held on April 24 this year." Huawei Spain CEO Tony Jin Yong: "The aim of this sponsorship is not only to improve our market recognition, but also to show our commitment to Spanish society" (XINHUA, 1/14). ... Oracle Team USA will continue its cooperation with TeXtreme as its supplier of carbon fiber materials used to produce composite parts for the team’s catamarans. The team is preparing to defend its title in the 35th America’s Cup in '17, using boats reinforced by TeXtreme technology (Oracle Team USA).
