German Racetrack Without Naming-Rights Partner After Etropolis Decides Not To Renew

Electric vehicles brand Etropolis did not renew its naming-rights sponsorship of the racetrack in Oschersleben, according to Henning Eberhardt of SPONSORs. Etropolis, which is part of the Sig Solar Group, decided to let its sponsorship run out at the end of '15. The racetrack, which, among other racing series, holds German Touring Car Championship (DTM) races, returned its name to Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on Jan. 1. The racetrack has not found a new naming-rights partner. Etropolis signed on as the track's partner on Jan. 1, 2013. In addition to the naming-rights deal, Etropolis received extensive marketing rights and used its two-wheeled vehicles within the driver paddock. Sig Solar's sponsorship of Bundesliga side Werder Bremen will not be affected by the decision (SPONSORs, 1/14).
