An Indian squash player "has backtracked on a threat to sell his kidney to raise funds ahead of next month's South Asian Games, saying it was a 'spur of the moment' decision that he was now regretting." RAVI DIXIT, 22, "is part of the home squad for the event in northeast India and was reported to be offering the organ for sale on social media" for an asking price of 800,000 rupees ($11,952.79) due to a lack of sponsors. Dixit: "I need at least Rs 1 lakh to participate in the South Asian Games but have not been able to find any sponsor" (REUTERS, 1/12). ... Spain's national court said that NEYMAR "will appear before a judge to testify in an investigation into alleged irregularities involving his transfer to Barcelona." Neymar's parents, former Barcelona President SANDRO ROSELL and current President JOSEP BARTOMEU "also will have to appear before a judge," according to court documents. The Brazil striker "is set to testify on Feb. 2, while Rosell and Bartomeu are expected to be in court on Feb. 1" (AP, 1/13). ... Roma Sporting Dir WALTER SABATINI reportedly "will leave the club in the summer to join Bologna." The 60-year-old has been with the Giallorossi since '11 after spells at Palermo and Lazio, helping to sign players such as ERIK LAMELA, KEVIN STROOTMAN and RADJA NAINGGOLAN. Radio Radio reported that the director "will leave Roma in the summer" to replace PANTALEO CORVINO as sporting director of Bologna (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 1/13).
