Portuguese top-flight side Porto sacked coach JULEN LOPETEGUI after a year-and-a-half in charge and "could replace him" with former Valencia boss NUNO SANTO. Nuno is the favorite to succeed the ex-Barcelona goalkeeper, the Portuguese "freshly unemployed after being dismissed by Valencia in December" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 1/8). ... League Two side Notts County appointed former Crystal Palace midfielder JAMIE FULLARTON as its new manager. The 41-year-old "makes the step up into management after spells coaching at Palace, Bolton Wanderers and most recently Nottingham Forest." He succeeds RICARDO MONIZ, "who was sacked last month with the Magpies 15th in League Two" (BBC, 1/10). ... Former Aalborg and Midtjylland Manager ALLAN KUHN is "to take over as coach" of Swedish football side Malmo FF. He will replace AGE HAREIDE, who "left in December to become coach of Denmark's national team." The 47-year-old Kuhn led Aalborg to third place in its Champions League group in '08 and "was assistant coach when they won two Danish league titles" (REUTERS, 1/8). ... Lithuanian basketball side Žalgiris Kaunas dismissed head coach GINTARAS KRAPIKAS Saturday and promoted SARUNAS JASIKEVICIUS. Jasikevicius joined the club as an assistant after retiring from playing in ’14 (L’ÉQUIPE, 1/9).
