NFL Mexico Dir Arturo Olivé Says Work To Hold Regular Season Game Is 80% Complete

NFL Mexico Dir Arturo Olivé said that his office's work to meet the requirements to hold a regular season game "is 80% complete; and on this [remaining] 20%, we are in the red zone," according to LA AFICIÓN. But Olivé added that it is "premature to talk of dates and teams when we are still involved in this process that is long; at the moment there is nothing, but there is intense work by this office to meet all the requirements that they ask, with the idea of eventually being able to hold this type of event in Mexico." To hold an NFL regular season game in Mexico, the NFL believes there are "three fundamental aspects" to resolve to make this a reality at Estadio Azteca: the locker rooms are designed for soccer teams and "are not big enough for an American football team;" the technical infrastructure (for communication between coaches and quarterbacks) "has to improve considerably;" and the "space for the media (broadcast, print, etc.)" (LA AFICIÓN, 1/5).
