Jordanian Billionaire Hasan Abdullah Ismaik Reportedly Interested In Everton

Jordanian billionaire Hasan Abdullah Ismaik "is currently in advanced talks over the takeover of Premier League side Everton," according to SPORT1. U.K. webite Winner Sports reported Everton has been "one of the best run clubs in England over the past few years and with the Toffees possessing a strong fan base, a talented young team as well as a top manager, they have grabbed the attention of many potential investors in recent times. Bill Kenwright, who acquired a majority stake in the club in '04, "is also well aware of this fact and is ready to listen to offers for his beloved Everton." An American consortium led by former MLB San Diego Padres Owner John Jay Moores was "in talks over the potential takeover of Everton." A source said, "Hasan Abdullah Ismaik met with Bill Kenwright at his London office. Talks are on-going and progressing quickly, and Hasan is hopeful of concluding the takeover as soon as possible." The billionaire saved German 2nd Bundesliga side 1860 Munich from insolvency back in '11 but has reportedly been left "frustrated at not being able to take sole part in the decision making of the club’s affairs due to German regulations" (SPORT1, 1/6).
