ManU Bosses Tell Louis Van Gaal His Job Is Assured Until Ryan Giggs Takes Over

Louis van Gaal has been assured that ManU has no plans to change managers and that the club intends to stick "to a long-term strategy of retaining him until Ryan Giggs is ready to take over," according to Jonathan Northcroft of the LONDON TIMES. Van Gaal was given the commitment by club Exec Vice Chair Ed Woodward and Owners the Glazer family "prior to a week in which he has engineered an upturn in his team’s fortunes, culminating in yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Swansea," ManU’s first in nine games. Despite the availability of Jose Mourinho, it appears Woodward and the Glazers are "determined to stick with the van Gaal and Giggs ticket." Van Gaal "was told by his bosses that they value his management." Woodward and the Glazers "believe he is laying strong structures that can be followed after he departs" (LONDON TIMES, 1/4).
