ManU Striker Wayne Rooney Rakes In Money As Club's Crisis Deepens

ManU striker Wayne Rooney's stock on the pitch may be sliding -- but he is "still raking it in off the pitch," according to Dan King of THE SUN. The company which manages Rooney’s commercial deals increased in value by nearly £2.5M ($3.7M), "according to the latest figures." Sponsors "still cannot get enough of England’s record goalscorer, however." Stoneygate 48, a firm set up in '02 to look after Rooney’s off-field affairs, had a net worth of £8.9M ($13.2M) for the year ending March 31. Sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike and his ongoing book contract with Harper Collins "have helped keep Rooney’s coffers in a healthy state" (THE SUN, 12/28).
