Brasileiro side São Paulo named Argentine EDGARDO BAUZA its coach for the upcoming season. The day after he was hired, Bauza said that the team will "need reinforcements" to try to win the 2016 Copa Libertadores. Bauza has twice won the tournament as a manager, with Ecuadorian club Liga de Quito in '08 and with Argentine club San Lorenzo in '14 (AFP, 12/25). ... Argentine National Security Minister PATRICIA BULLRICH announced that GUILLERMO MADERO will "be in charge of security for sporting events." Madero will take over the organization in charge of security at sporting events. He replaces EDUARDO VILLALBA (INFOBAE, 12/26). ... Former U.K. Shadow Chancellor ED BALLS has been named as the new chair of EPL side Norwich City. The 48-year-old Canaries fan, who lost his seat as a Labour MP in May's election, will be at Norwich's home game against Aston Villa on Monday. Balls' role at Carrow Road "will be unpaid." He replaces former Chair ALAN BOWKETT, who stepped down last month (BBC, 12/27). ... Ligue 1 side Lyon has made changes to its coaching staff, with former player BRUNO GENESIO installed as coach until the end of the season. The club will hold a news conference on Monday to "outline the new structure" (PA, 12/24). ... JOHN FERGUSON, currently a trainer in Britain and bloodstock adviser to Dubai Crown Prince SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN RASIH AL-MAKTOUM, will move to become CEO and racing manager at the ruler's Godolphin stable, "which will be reorganized and streamlined." Al-Maktoum reportedly "plans to merge his global racing and breeding operations in the New Year" (REUTERS, 12/23). ... French Ligue 2 side FC Metz named PHILIPPE HINSCHBERGER as its new head coach. Club President BERNARD SERIN made the decision after former manager JOSÉ RIGA left the club last week. Hinschberger played his entire career at Metz before becoming the coach of Louhans-Cuiseaux, Niort, Le Havre, Laval and Créteil (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/23). ... French Ligue 1 side Montpellier HSC President LAURENT NICOLLIN announced that assistant Coach PASCAL BAILLS and training center Dir BRUNO MARTINI will “take the reins of the club” after former Manager ROLLAND COURBIS left the club last week. Baills and Martini will work in tandem until the end of the season (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/27).
