Volkswagen To Continue Sponsorship Of DEL Club Grizzlys Wolfsburg

German Hockey League (DEL) side Grizzlys Wolfsburg "will be able to count on the support of main sponsor Volkswagen going forward," according to Henning Eberhardt of SPONSORs. The company's continued financial support will help the club to plan beyond the '15-16 season. In a statement, Volkswagen said, "Wolfsburg is a sports city ... and hockey has a big tradition in the region. The Grizzlys Wolfsburg offer top-level performances season after season and to further this trend Volkswagen will continue to support the club." Grizzlys Managing Dir Charly Fliegauf welcomed the positive decision but implied that the financial support will be slightly reduced. It is not yet known how big the reduction will be. Volkswagen currently invests an estimated €5M ($5.5M) annually in the club through a sponsorship deal with subsidiary Skoda (SPONSORs, 12/21).
