ANTONIO CARLOS NUNES DE LIMA "has been elected" VP of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The 77-year-old, currently president of the state football confederation of Pará, has been appointed to the national football body to replace JOSÉ MARIA MARIN, "who resigned after being arrested under the orders of the U.S. Department of Justice for his alleged role in FIFA and CONMEBOL corruption scandals" (SOCCEREX, 12/17). ... EPL Dir of Finance & Administration JAVED KHAN will retire after 17 years at the organization. Khan joined from the British Olympic Association in ‘99 as the Premier League's first ever finance director. During Khan's 17 years at the League, turnover has risen from £238M to £2B ($2.98B). Khan will be replaced by ROSS CHRISTIE, who is being promoted from financial controller, a role in which he has worked closely with Khan for many years on all financial matters at the Premier League (EPL).

COACHES/MANAGERSFACUNDO SAVA will take over as coach of Argentine first division side Racing after "resolving his contract situation" with Quilmes, "where he was signed through June 30." He replaces DIEGO COCCA (LOS ANDES, 12/16). ... League Championship side Reading appointed BRIAN MCDERMOTT as its manager on a two-and-a-half year deal, "just under three years after he was sacked by the Championship club." The 54-year-old, who led the Royals to promotion to the Premier League in '12, "succeeds STEVE CLARKE." He left Reading in March '13 "after just over three years in charge" (BBC, 12/17). ... League Two club Luton Town "have sacked JOHN STILL after four straight defeats." The 65-year-old became manager at Kenilworth Road in Feb. '13 "and led the club to the conference title in his first full season." ANDY AWFORD "has stepped up from running the academy to take charge of the side on a caretaker basis and will be assisted by the existing backroom staff" (PA, 12/17). ... Belgian Pro League side Gent "rewarded HEIN VANHAEZEBROUCK with a contact extension" after the coach led the club to the knockout stages of the Champions League earlier this month. He "had signed a new deal that would keep him at the club" until mid-'18. The 51-year-old "has coached at various Belgian clubs" since '00 (EUROSPORT, 12/17).
