Belgian Pay-TV Telenet Renews English Premier League Rights For Three Years

Belgian pay-TV broadcaster Telenet "renewed its rights to the English Premier League for a further three years," according to SOCCEREX. The new deal takes in "the three seasons" from '16-17 to '18-19. Matches from the EPL are shown on Telenet's Play Sports channel, "which currently airs up to five games per weekend and will continue to do so under the new deal." Telenet also "renewed the digital broadcast rights, which allows it to show matches, highlights and summaries on its PlaySports mobile app and web portal." Financial details of the agreement "were not disclosed" (SOCCEREX, 12/14).
