Spanish Superior Sports Council Boss Miguel Cardenal Addresses Spanish Sport

Spanish Superior Sports Council (CSD) President Miguel Cardenal "reviewed his work during his presidency of the CSD," according to Manuel Bruña of MUNDO DEPORTIVO. He said that Spanish sport is leaving Spain's economic crisis "strengthened and modernized." Cardenal added that socially, Spanish sport is more sensitized, "above all to the role of women," and strengthened in "values like governance, the fight against match-fixing and doping." With elections "around the corner," he asked for "a new project for the Sports Law." Cardenal: "The Federations require a law that gives them more leadership and resources because professional sport in '15 is not like in '90." He also denied that he wants to stay at the CSD, but "left clear that the projects, not the personnel, are what is important" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 12/14).
