West Ham Interested In Taking Olympic Stadium Capacity Up To 60,000

EPL side West Ham Vice-Chair Karren Brady said that the club wants "to increase the capacity of the Olympic Stadium to 60,000 in response to high levels of interest in season tickets," according to Samuel Stevens of the London INDEPENDENT. The east London club is "set to move across the capital from Upton Park at the end of this season but Brady admits the initial 54,000 seats may not be enough to meet demand." After a succession of sell-outs at the soon-to-be defunct Boleyn Ground, the former Birmingham City director believes that "West Ham can attract much larger crowds once the move is complete." Brady said, "It’s 54,000 [at the moment], we are looking to take it up to 60,000 because demand for season ticket’s has been so high that we’ve now got several times as many people that want season tickets than we can actually fulfill demand, so, we are looking at increasing the capacity" (INDEPENDENT, 12/12).
