Alex Ferguson, Other VIP ManU Supporters Held Inside Wolfsburg's Stadium

Former ManU Manager Alex Ferguson was one of several VIP ManU fans "who were held inside Wolfsburg's stadium for an hour after the final whistle on Tuesday night due to a security scare," according to Sam Long of the London EVENING STANDARD. Ferguson, FA Vice Chair David Gill and former ManU player Bobby Charlton "were unable to return to their vehicles immediately after the game as a suspicious package" was spotted in the parking area reserved solely for sponsors and players' families. Ferguson said, "We were told there was a package in the car park and they weren't sure what it was." The incident "underlines the heightened security measures that are in place across the continent" since France's friendly against Germany was targeted during the recent Paris terrorist attacks (EVENING STANDARD, 12/9).
