IMG Wins Premier League Rights In 27 Markets In Central, Eastern Europe, Central Asia

IMG has been awarded the live broadcast and digital clips rights by the Premier League for Territory 14 -- Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia -- for the '16-18 period. The new deal takes in no fewer than 27 markets -- Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (IMG). SOCCEREX reported the agreement marks the second package of Premier League rights IMG "has acquired in the league's latest round of international sales." In September, the agency "picked up in-flight and in-ship rights on a global basis." Financial terms of the latest deal, "which sees IMG replace Saran Media as the Premier League's distribution partner in many of the 27 markets, are not available" (SOCCEREX, 12/8).
