Winter Sports Draw Strong Ratings On ZDF; NFL Again Top On ProSieben Maxx

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded strong ratings for its winter sports broadcasts over the weekend," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. ZDF's biathlon coverage drew 2.9 million viewers starting at 11am on Sunday. The men's 12.5km pursuit race obtained a market share of 23.4%. The following women's race recorded 3.91 million viewers and had a 25.3% share. The women's 10km pursuit race drew a 15.8% market share in the target demographic 14-49. ZDF viewership remained high in the afternoon. Its Nordic Combined coverage, which started at 2:14pm, was watched by an average of 2.91 million viewers. The following ski jumping event drew 2.52 million.

AMERICAN FOOTBALL: German free-to-air TV channel ProSieben Maxx "obtained an average market share of 5.5% in the target demo for its Sunday NFL broadcast." The figure, which was recorded during the game between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, "is a new season high for the channel." The game had a peak share of 7.4%. At 12:42am, the matchup still had an average viewership of 240,000 (DWDL, 12/7).
