ICC Awards Sunset+Vine Contract To Produce Twenty20, World Cup Cricket

The Int'l Cricket Council awarded Sunset+Vine "the contract to produce its live coverage of events including the next year’s Twenty20 competition and the 2019 World Cup," according to Mark Sweney of the London GUARDIAN. The ICC "appointed the independent TV production company behind Channel 4’s successful London 2012 Paralympics coverage, and BT’s Premier League football and Premiership rugby union matches, to produce its events for the next three years." ICC GM of Commercial Campbell Jamieson said that "it was the first time the cricketing body had handled a contract pitch of this type." He said, "ICC has taken live production in house for the first time and are looking forward to a successful relationship with Sunset+Vine." The ICC "awarded Sunset+Vine the contract for live TV production of eight events over from 2016 to 2019, including next year’s men’s and women’s Twenty20 international competition and the 2019 World Cup in England & Wales" (GUARDIAN, 12/7). Each match will be distributed and broadcast by ICC’s global broadcast partner, Star Sports, and its licensees, such as Sky, OSN (Middle East & North Africa) and SuperSport (South Africa & sub-Saharan Africa) (ICC).
