V8 Supercars is "set to abandon Sydney Olympic Park and move the season finale to a proposed new street racing track in Gosford on the New South Wales central coast." The title-deciding Sydney 500 "could have been the last appearance of the V8s at Olympic Park as plans to relocate the series-ending event to Gosford are well-advanced." Russian middle-distance runner Tatyana Andrianova has been banned "after failing a drugs test more than a decade ago in what could be the first of a number of cases that would see a number of athletes stripped of medals" from the World Championships in '05 and '07.
