League Notes: Organizers Say No Positive Drug Tests During 2015 Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup 2015 organizers "announced that no positive tests have been recorded from nearly 500 doping samples collected during the recent tournament." The organizers announced the results of the "intelligence-led, targeted" drug-testing program during the World Cup. World Rugby has said that "468 urine and blood tests were carried out across all 20 teams, with 200 in-competition samples and 268 out-of-competition" (AP, 12/1). ... Former India cricket captain Rahul Dravid on Tuesday called upon the Board of Control for Cricket in India  "to formulate a blueprint for junior cricket in India and said that it was imperative to remove age fudging and illegal bowling action at the junior level for the development of the game" (FIRST POST, 12/1). ... Cricket Australia and the Stars Foundation announced a partnership that will see cricket used to achieve education outcomes for young Indigenous girls in schools across the Northern Territory. The initial 12-month partnership will reach 500 girls in the NT, helping students gain education and training qualifications (CA).
