Marketplace Roundup: Ligue 1 Club Olympique De Marseille Partners With Snapchat

Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille partnered with video messaging app Snapchat. As part of the deal, the club launched its own account on Snapchat, entitled "CoulissesOM," through which Snapchat users will be able to access exclusive photo and video content. Marseille joins Real Madrid in teaming up with Snapchat to share club content, while the NFL "also has a partnership with the social media platform" (SOCCEREX, 11/23).

IN GERMANY: Online smartphone retailer Preisboerse24 is sponsoring Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. As a main sponsor of the club, the company will benefit from its branding "being displayed at Frankfurt’s Commerzbank Arena, including on the LED boards and cam carpets beside the pitch." Preisboerse24, which served as a third level partner of fellow Bundesliga club Schalke 04 until the end of the '14-15 season, joins Alfa Romeo, Krombacher and Lotto Hansen in advertising on the cam carpet displays at Frankfurt’s home stadium (SOCCEREX, 11/23). ... Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund extended its sponsorship agreement with Dortmund Breweries, the makers of Brinkhoff’s No. 1 pilsner, for a further eight years. The Ruhr-based beer brand will "continue as a champion partner of the club" until the end of the '22-23 season. Financial terms of the new deal, which extends an association dating back to '08, "were not released" (SOCCEREX, 11/23).
