Marketplace Roundup: Scottish FA Signs Retail Partnership With Harris Tweed

The Scottish FA teamed up with Scottish brands Harris Tweed and Walker Slater to create a bespoke range of clothing and accessories for players and fans using Harris Tweed fabric. The two companies were commissioned by the SFA to produce a range of jackets and accessories using a design which combines the dark blue of the Scotland jersey with the sky blue of the Saltire (SFA). ... Real Madrid partnered with Snapchat, agreeing to become the messaging app’s first team with its own account. The partnership includes an “official live story” that documented Saturday’s Clásico vs. Barcelona (THE DRUM, 11/20). ... The Int’l Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced a five-year global agreement with Japanese athletics company ASICS. The new partnership, which will commence on Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2020, will involve ASICS supplying the tops for the athletes, and uniforms for the court personnel and officials in beach volleyball, as well as uniforms for the referees and officials in volleyball (FIVB).

KNIGHTS EXTEND WITH NSW MINING: National Rugby League side Newcastle Knights and NSW Mining agreed to a three-year extension of their partnership. The flagship of the agreement, the Voice for Mining Family Day, will again be the highlight of the '16 NRL season (Newcastle Knights). ... Global daily fantasy football platform Oulala.com has become the official fantasy football partner of Premier League side Leicester City. It is the first partnership established by Oulala with an EPL club. The deal will involve a bespoke Leicester city version of the Oulala fantasy football game, which has already been created (Leicester City). ... Infront Sports & Media and the World Curling Federation concluded a prolongation and expansion of the existing agreement with Le Gruyère AOP. The title sponsorship contract for the European Curling Championship was extended for the '16 edition in Braehead, Scotland. In addition, Le Gruyère AOP has committed as official main sponsor of the 2016 World Men's Curling Championship in Basel, Switzerland (Infront).
