Scottish Club Aberdeen Posts '14-15 Profit Of $773,000, Moves Closer To New Stadium

Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen believes it is "closer to building a new stadium" after it made a profit of £509,000 ($773,000) for the trading year '14-15, recording turnover of £13M ($19.74M), according to STV. The Pittodrie club enjoyed a "successful season on the field," finishing second in the Premiership and embarking on a Europa League qualification run. Club Chair Stewart Milne said in a statement, "The consequent strengthening of the balance sheet has put us in a better position to deliver the much sought-after dedicated training facilities and also a new stadium. In terms of the proposed relocation to a new stadium, Loirston Loch remains our preferred option, and we have been encouraged by the progress being made with Aberdeen City Council and their development partner at Loirston." Annual turnover increased by £1.92M ($2.91M), from £11.16M to £13.08M ($19.86M), with the wage bill also increasing from £6.08M to £6.64M ($10.08M). However, wages to turnover ratio dropped from 55% to 51% (STV, 11/21).
