Marketplace Roundup: Kia Motors Germany Renews Deal With Berlin Six-Days

Kia Motors Germany "will continue as the presenting partner of the Berlin Six-Days cycling event in '16." The South Korean car brand "has been the event's presenting partner for 10 years." Kia reportedly "pays a low six-figure sum" for the rights (SPONSORs, 11/19). ... Halifax RLFC signed a three-year deal for MBi Group to become the club’s new main home shirt sponsor and its logo will appear on the training kits for the first team and reserve grade as well. MBi Group is already the naming rights partner of Halifax's Shay Stadium (RUNNING RUGBY, 11/19). ... TTM Security signed on as a new corporate and jersey sponsor for National Rugby League side Canberra Raiders. The TTM Security logo will be displayed on the front of the Canberra Raiders jersey. TTM has held a long association with rugby league in Canberra, holding naming rights sponsorship for the TTM Canberra Raiders Cup the past three years (Canberra Raiders).

SHARP DRESSED MEN: Liverpool players Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi launched the Signature Collection, a limited-edition group of subtly branded quality garments and luxury leather accessories, at a press event held in Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel. Liverpool CCO Billy Hogan said, "Our merchandising team has been working hard to create an extensive array of product lines for our fans. Signature Collection has been designed and sourced by our team here at LFC, with many of the products produced in the U.K." The collection, which will be available in time for Christmas, is made up of Merino Wool knitwear including jumpers and scarves and leather accessories including a travel bag, washbag, passport holder, wallet and notebook holder (Liverpool). ... The Ghana FA is in talks with Ukrainian beer company Obolon to become the new sponsor for the Ghana Premier League. This follows the decision of First Capital plus Bank to suspend its sponsorship deal with the Ghana FA in an attempt to restructure its activities. Media reports reveal that talks with the Ukrainian company are advanced (GHANA WEB, 11/18). ... League Championship side Rotherham United secured a deal with Hodge Clemco Ltd., which will join as one of the club's business partners. The South Yorkshire-based company is one of the leading figures in the design and manufacture of surface preparation and finishing equipment (Rotherham United). ... SANZAR and InterContinental Hotels Group extended their long-standing partnership for a further three years, covering the '16-18 seasons. As part of the agreement, IHG is the exclusive hotel partner throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan during Super Rugby and The Rugby Championship (SANZAR).

UNORTHODOX SHIRTS: Pro12 rugby side Ospreys unveiled its unorthodox "Batjersey" which it intends to wear "in next week's Welsh derby against Cardiff Blues." The unusual shirt has been launched "via a collaboration with kit manufacturer BLK and DC Comics, and features the famous Batman logo across the chest and Batsuit body armour detail all over." The BLK/DC partnership was launched earlier this year as Australian Super Rugby teams Melbourne Rebels and Queensland Reds wore Superman and The Flash kits, respectively (London DAILY MAIL, 11/18). ... A-League side Newcastle Jets unveiled a "one-off strip that features actual fighter jets." The Jets’ branding has always been centered around three F/A-18 Hornets, "and now they've taken things one step further by using them on their own kit" (METRO, 11/18).
