Boca Juniors VP Candidate Proposes Increasing Bombonera's Capacity To 78,000

Mario Pergolini, who is bidding to become VP of Argentine first division club Boca Juniors, presented a project called "Bombonera 360," which proposes increasing the stadium capacity to 78,000, according to LOS ANDES. Pergolini said, "We cannot allow the field to be moved -- which was backed during in exhibition at the Conexión Fútbol congress -- because of all it represents for our identity, our feelings and our neighborhood." His proposal has five pillars: a committee to audit the execution of the project, the purchase of land, the financing, a detailed project to expand the capacity and an adjusted timeline to be carried out over three-to-six years (LOS ANDES, 11/19).
