Serie A Side AS Roma's Stadium Project Deferred Due To Paperwork Delay

Serie A side AS Roma's stadium project "has been deferred" as the necessary paperwork still has not been delivered to the region's authorities, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. While the Mayor of Rome expressed open optimism regarding the completion of the project, "it appears the club will have to wait longer than expected." The administration of the Lazio region still has not received the stadium's final project, "which was supposed to be delivered to them by the city council." The paperwork "was supposed to be submitted by November 15 to start the next phase of the project, with the plan being that of kicking off construction in 2016 and opening in 2018." But that schedule "now seems unlikely," especially as the €300M ($319M) cost for the building of the stadium and the expansion of the Metro B line are still not covered (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 11/18).
