Sport1 Extends ESPN Rights Package With College, Motorsports Through 2018

Sport1 GmbH extended its comprehensive rights package from ESPN Media Distribution through the '17-18 season. The package for pay-TV channel Sport1 US includes the broadcast rights to NCAA College Football and College Basketball as well as the Verizon IndyCar Series. Alongside college and motorsports, Sport1 US also features the "big four" North American sports leagues NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB, making it still the go-to address for all U.S. sports fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Sport1 US will again show at least 130 NCAA College Basketball games live or tape-delayed with the original U.S. commentary. As before, coverage will include the regular season, the following conference championship tournaments, and in March and April the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship tournament known as "March Madness" -- culminating in the NCAA Final Four. Sport1 US will also show at least 70 NCAA College Football games live or tape-delayed with the original U.S. commentary. These include numerous games from the regular season as well as the bowl season in December and January with the College Football playoff semifinals and the National Championship Game as the season highlight (Sport1).
