Media Notes: Formula E Extends Partnership With Tech Developer 360 Racing

Formula E announced it entered into a joint partnership with immersive technology developer 360 Racing to continue to support 360° video for the new all-electric FIA Formula E Championship, which was launched with the series last year. On-going development will include interactive live streaming of a 360-degree onboard camera from four Formula E race cars during the race. The camera system will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., which is designed to enable end-to-end 4K Ultra HD mobile experiences (Formula E). ... The Pac-12 Conference and LeTV Sports announced the full details of their expanded partnership. With the new agreement, LeTV will become the official digital media partner of the Pac-12 Conference in China and live stream more than 200 live sporting events across four Pac-12 sports over this year and next. LeTV Sports will offer fans in China live access to 100 men's basketball games, including regular season and Pac-12 Tournament games, as well as at least 24 football, women's soccer and women's basketball games this season and next (Pac-12). ... Philippines sports channel TV5 has secured the rights to broadcast the second season of the Int'l Premier Tennis League in December. This December's edition will bring Spain's Rafael Nadal to the Philippines for the first time as part of the Indian Aces team. The matches will be aired live on TV5 and online via Sports5.ph (RAPID TV NEWS, 11/11). ... Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus closed the acquisition of Internet portal Sportbox.ru. It said in a statement that it completed the acquisition of VGTRK (RTR) assets, in accordance with an order by the president of the Russian Federation, to establish a national public sports TV channel (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/12).
