Media Notes: RTL Extends Partnership With Wige Media

German free-to-air TV channel RTL and production company Wige Media have extended their collaboration. The main focus of the renewal will be RTL's live broadcasts of F1 races. Wige and RTL have been working together since '92 (RTL). ... Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) "won the broadcast rights" to all English Premier League matches for the three seasons commencing in August. The company's IPTV service Singtel TV "has been broadcasting Premier League football since the beginning" of the '10-11 season (RAPID TV NEWS, 11/11). ... The Six Nations Council announced that it has entered into an agreement with TV3 for the broadcast of the Six Nations Championship for a period of four years from '18-21. TV3 will broadcast live coverage of all matches in the Championship as well as previews, magazine and highlight programs. TV3 will also broadcast delayed match replays of all matches to complement live coverage (TV3). ... TV Media Sport "secured a package of free-to-air rights" to UEFA Euro 2016 in sub-Saharan Africa. The French-based agency "collected the rights to 12 matches" from the tournament, including the final, according to UEFA's latest media rights sales update. Coverage "will be shown in 38 countries across the continent." No financial terms "were released" (SOCCEREX, 11/11).
