Franchise Notes: Rayo Vallecano Unveils New American Franchise

La Liga side Rayo Vallecano unveiled its new American franchise, Rayo Oklahoma City, "which will play in the country's second tier." The club -- which will become Oklahoma's second football team -- will start its journey in the North American Soccer League next year and play in the Yukon Stadium, "which can hold up to 6,000 spectators" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 11/11). ... While the reported "battle between Mercedes and Ferrari to wrestle Max Verstappen out of Red Bull’s grasp carries the dramatic appeal of the sport’s current top guns fighting over motorsport’s latest hotshot, the sobering reality is that none of them are ready to offer Verstappen a seat at F1’s top table" in '16. Mercedes has Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg "under contract." Ferrari has "stuck with Kimi Raikkonen alongside Sebastian Vettel" (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 11/10).
