'Astonishing Numbers' Tuned In For Salford City's FA Cup Victory

An "astonishing" 3.5 million people tuned into BBC2 Friday to watch Salford City's FA Cup victory against Notts County, according to Daniel Prescott of the London DAILY MAIL. Viewing numbers were "buoyed by the Class of 92 documentary" (DAILY MAIL, 11/9). L’ÉQUIPE reported French channel Canal Plus’ Super Sport Sunday “broke several records last Sunday." The Top 14 rugby match, Stade Français vs. Clermont, drew 716,000 viewers with a 25.9% market share. Post-match show Canal Rugby Club rode that match’s audience to be the most watched show of the week with 652,000 viewers and a peak audience of 900,000. Canal Football Club also had a record average audience of 1,765,000 viewers, with a peak of close to 2.2 million viewers with a 6.8% market share (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/9).
