Juventus Announces Profits For The First Quarter

Serie A side Juventus announced a €16.8M profit for the first quarter of '14-15, a €45.4M "improvement from last year," according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. The Bianconeri's press release revealed a €16.8M profit for the first quarter, a big improvement from a €28.6M loss in the same period last year. Other "financial highlights" include shareholders' equity of €61.5 ($65.83) on Sept. 30 compared to a balance of €44.6M on June 30. Furthermore, the club announced that the "net financial debt has risen" by €6.9M ($7.4M) to a total of €195.7M ($209.7M) (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 11/9).

IN FRANCE: L'ÉQUIPE reported after six consecutive seasons in the red, Ligue 1 side Olymipique de Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas announced, “Our budget has done well enough that we will not only break even, but show a profit." Last year, the club lost €21.4M. Aulas added, “The group is expected to generate a significant gross operating profit,” benefiting from Lyon’s “return to the Champions League” (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/10).
