Cricket NSW And SCG Trust Agree To Review After Sheffield Shield Fiasco

There will be a "thorough review" of the Sydney Cricket Ground's transition from the Australian Football League season to the cricket season in a "bid to avoid a repeat of the Sheffield Shield drama that brought relations between Cricket New South Wales and the SCG Trust to flashpoint," according to Andrew Wu of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. After "locking horns for the best part of 48 hours," CNSW and the SCG Trust, which have "endured a troubled relationship in recent years, have called a truce and drawn up protocols to ensure the venue remains the home of cricket in the state." The two bodies issued a joint statement on Tuesday outlining their commitment to "ensure the high standards expected by both organisations are achieved and maintained." A relocation of the Sydney Test is "considered unlikely, but the ground will be inspected before the fixture is confirmed" (SMH, 11/10).
