More Than 1 Million Tune In To Watch Dortmund-Schalke Derby On Sky Deutschland

The Bundesliga Revierderby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke "recorded more than 1 million viewers on Sky Deutschland," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The game, which started at 3:30pm on Sunday, attracted 1.04 million viewers and obtained a market share of 6.3%. The figures represent a new high for early Sunday games. In the target demographic 14-49, Dortmund's 3-2 win drew a 8.9% share. On Saturday, Sky's Bundesliga simulcast was watched by 1.54 million viewers and had 15.4 market share in the target demo.

DECISIVE SUNDAY
: Pan-European sports network Eurosport drew 630,000 viewers for the season-ending MotoGP race in Valencia on Sunday. Eurosport's broadcast obtained a market share of 4.8%, along with 5.8% in the target demo. German sports channel Sport1 attracted 330,000 viewers for its broadcast of the Deutschland Cup hockey game between Germany and the U.S. on Sunday afternoon. The game, which Germany won 5-2, drew a 1.5% market share and a 0.8% share in the target demo (DWDL, 11/9). In Madrid, Mela Chércoles reported Telecinco's coverage of the MotoGP race drew an audience of 5.9 million, which translated to a market share of 53.5%. An additional 195,000 viewers tuned in to pay-TV provider Movistar+'s coverage of the race. The total of 6.1 million viewers made it the most-watched MotoGP race in Spain in history, breaking the previous record of 5.1 million for a 500cc race in '99 in Rio de Janeiro, which was won by Àlex Crivillé (AS, 9/9).
