Event Notes: National Rugby League All Stars Match To Feature World All Stars

The National Rugby League All Stars concept "has been shaken up, with a World All Stars team set to face the Indigenous side in next year’s pre-season showpiece at Suncorp Stadium." The new team "is essentially the former NRL All Stars but rebadged with a global spin," as organizers attempt to fix the one problem that has dogged the popular representative fixture -- finding a suitable opponent for the Indigenous All Stars (AAP, 11/5). ... The Valencia Open will change its site, and starting next year, it will be held in Belgium. The agreement "had practically been sealed," but was signed on Wednesday, when documentation was sent to the ATP. The ATP is expected to give the move final approval at a meeting in London on Nov. 15 (SUPERDEPORTE, 11/4).
