Spanish Football League Defines Criteria For Distribution Of TV Rights Money

The Spanish Football League (LFP) on Tuesday established the criteria for how it will distribute the 25% of revenue from TV rights -- a sum of around €250M ($277M) -- that "has not yet been defined," according to MUNDO DEPORTIVO. Each club will receive at least 2% of this quantity -- around €5M ($5.5M) -- with a maximum of 20% for those that earn the most. A third of the sum -- around €83M ($92M) -- will be distributed based on ticket sales. Of the remaining two thirds, 70% of it -- around €166M ($184M) -- will be distributed based on each team's TV audience. The distribution of the remaining money -- approximately €50M ($55M) -- will be based on how well teams manage their facilities, including cleanliness, quality of the playing surface, location of TV cameras, lighting and stadium access (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 10/28).
