District Attorney's Office To Investigate Management Of La Liga Side Valencia

Valencia's Anti-corruption District Attorney's office has opened diligence for an investigation after the claims filed against La Liga side Valencia Owner Peter Lim, football agent Jorge Mendes and former Valencia President Amadeo Salvo, according to the EFE. This was announced by the "Marea Valencianista" platform led by former club VP Miguel Zorío, who filed the claims of economic crimes. Zorío explained that the objective of the claim was to investigate "the evidence indicating that the signings the club is making are serving to finance the purchase of the club." When Zorío announced on Sept. 24 that he was filing the claim, Valencia released a statement denying the accusations and "threatening legal action because the accusations were 'absolutely false'" (EFE, 10/28).
