Event Notes: Barcelona Named Host Of 2019 World Roller Games

Barcelona City Council Sports Commissioner Marta Carranza announced on Tuesday that the city will organize the second edition of the World Roller Games -- but not in '17, as it was originally scheduled. The event will instead be held in '19 because "the contributions to the initial project demanded more time to be carried out" (SPORT, 10/27). ... Organizers of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and World Rugby "launched a new logo for the 2019 edition of the tournament in London on Tuesday." The logo -- together with the familiar World Rugby shield -- "combines the rising sun with another iconic symbol of Japan, Mount Fuji, showing the unity of sun and land." Meanwhile dates for the tournament were also made public with the opening match to take place on Sept. 20, "kicking off six weeks of action leading to the final" on Nov. 2 (WALES ONLINE, 10/27). ... InfrontRingier Sports & Entertainment Switzerland presented the route of the 80th edition of the Tour de Suisse. The '16 series will take place from June 11-19. In addition, InfrontRingier brokered a three-year partnership for the "King of the Mountains" jersey with the three collaborating holiday destinations Davos Klosters, Engadin St. Moritz, Arosa and the company P&I (Schweiz) AG (Infront).
