League Two side York City sacked Manager RUSS WILCOX "following Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by AFC Wimbledon." Wilcox "has overseen just two wins this campaign and his departure comes after a run of nine games without a victory." Assistant Manager JOHN SCHOFIELD "has also left City." Head of Football Operations and first team coach RICHARD CRESSWELL "will serve as caretaker manager" (BBC, 10/26). ... La Liga side Levante sacked coach LUCAS ALCARAZ "following Sunday’s 4-0 home defeat to Real Sociedad." The former Recreativo, Almeria and Granada boss replaced JOSE LUIS MENDILIBAR eight games into last season and subsequently "guided the Valencians to safety" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 10/26). ... The IOC announced the composition of the IOC Coordination Commission for Lausanne 2020, the third Winter Youth Olympic Games. IOC President THOMAS BACH appointed Slovakia’s DANKA BARTEKOVA as chair. She will lead the team of commission members. The commission also includes IOC members SERGEY BUBKA, CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK of Denmark, Turkish Olympic Committee Secretary General NESE GÜNDOGAN, Lillehammer 2016 CEO TOMAS HOLMESTAD and Int’l Ski Federation (FIS) Secretary General SARAH LEWIS (IOC). … ManU announced that CLIFF BATY will be joining the club as CFO. He previously served as CFO and was a member of the board of directors of betting operator and technology supplier Sportech plc since ’13. Prior to Sportech, he worked for several years at Ladbrokes in a number of senior finance roles including finance director of its eGaming and int’l businesses (ManU). … Former Italy captain FABIO CANNAVARO was appointed as head coach of defending Saudi Arabian Pro League champions Al Nassr until the end of the season. He replaces JORGE DA SILVA after the latter was sacked last week, and the World Cup winner -- who retired in 2011 -- “has been given an eight-month contract, with an optional one-year extension” (GOAL, 10/26). ... French second tier professional basketball club Chorale de Roanne “amicably prematurely ended the contract of head coach FRÉDÉRICK BROUILLAUD.” Brouillaud had been with the club since ’04, and was head coach since July ’14. Club Sport Dir RAPHAËL GAUME will “take over coaching” (LE PROGRES, 10/26).
