FA CEO Martin Glenn Says England To Play Home Matches Away From Wembley

England fans will not have to travel to London to watch home friendlies next season "after it was revealed that Roy Hodgson's side will play away from Wembley in preparation for Euro 2016," according to Luke Augustus of the London DAILY MAIL. FA CEO Martin Glenn confirmed that the governing body plans "to showcase the Three Lions away from the home of football next year to engage supporters up and down the country." The move "has been devised with the aim of improving the home atmosphere at international matches," with Glenn admitting that Wembley is not a fortress due in part to its corporate feel. It "is yet to be revealed which stadia will host England matches next year but Glenn believes the decision will bring some extra excitement at the selected grounds." Glenn: "The England brand is more than London. We've effectively refinanced the stadium which gives us a lot more financial stability, so from next year we will be holding some England games out of Wembley and that is as good a guarantee as you are going to get" (DAILY MAIL, 10/20).
